SONG LYRICS

I decided to record the lyrics in Spanish which is my native language but I included an English translation that can work for singing as well.

IS DNA REAPERING

Is the picture of a mem’ry
And the flavour of a food
Is a story or a poem
And a song for me and you
Is your past that now connect us
it pierces you and is projected

Its a gesture and a familiar smile
Sharing faces new and old
it’s DNA that reappears
As a homage to who’s gone
Is your future that connect us
it pierces you and is projected

Are new flowers every season
That reminds us of a loss
And a tree that still gives shadow
Though the leaves exist no more.
Is your past that now connect us
it pierces you and is projected

There are enduring traditions
That live for more tan a day
And others that are vanished
As a life is passes away
It is in your hands what you want the most
May it prevail in your present
from your past that now connect us
it pierces you and is projected
It is in your hands what you want the most

May it prevail in your present
That connect us
whatever you want
from your past
it’s DNA that reappears …

DESCRIPTION
When the news of this contest appeared to me a few days ago, a few ideas converted to lyrics came to my mind that paid tribute to the connection with my ancestors. I am a musician and a teacher, I am not the best singer but I tried to convey my feelings. I use a candombe rhythm that is an example of the connection between African percussion that has endured in Latin America, being today almost one of the few African legacies left in my region. Music and lyrics: Julián Mansilla Piano & synthesizers & recording, etc Me again. Candombe percussion with the help of Maxi Aguirre
