All I Ever Wanted

by Isaac Benjamin Amateur

SONG LYRICS

I remember when you met me
After we’d given up
Life was overwhelming
And I wanted it to stop
You said my friends would miss me
After I was gone
That the world ‘keep turning but,
Not the way you’d want

They tell me home is,
where your heart is at
That ya can’t move forward,
if always looking back
All I ever wanted,
was to get away
Now that I left I…
wish that I had stayed

I could ask for help but,
I know how that goes
The same words that feel like,
Lies I’ve always known
You could say you’re different but,
That’s all I’m ever told
You could say you’re different
That’s all I’ve ever known
I still have my reasons
To not want what you say
Everyone who claims that,
is never one to stay

They tell me home is,
where your heart is at
That ya can’t move forward,
if always looking back
All I ever wanted,
was to get away
Now that I left I…
wish that I had stayed

DESCRIPTION
This song is called All I Ever Wanted. It's about my connection to my past, and the hope I have right now, for what that might connect to in my future. I am not a live performer. I fell 35ft ten years back. My fretting hand and wrist are completely fuzed to my forearm. I will never play well. I mainly produce and write. I think you'll hear the longing in this, and I'm near certain you, reading will "connect" when you simply listen. Much appreciation, - Isaac
