Ruby Williams – Carefree On The Crossbar. Written by Ruby Williams & Joan Minnery. Copyright 2020 Joan Minnery Enterprises.
When I get upset about things outside our home, he always cheers me up, makes me happy, feel not alone.
When I’m in my every-day Ruby kinda place; he kids around, play fighting – there’s a wider smile on my face.
He calls me his Roobers always joking and tickling me. Special moments together – Dad and — Ruby Doobie. Our time together is most cherished in me, late night drives, roof off – and our Wendy’s Frosty.
Carefree on the crossbar — watching the world go by…just me and my Dad, our jeep and the midnight sky. 2X
His friends are happy to see him, they’ve called him Willy all his life – to Heather he’s just John — she’s the magic … she’s his wife.
I miss him when he’s not at home he works well into the night. I value the time when it’s just him and I throwing frisbee – everything’s alright.
Thanks Dad for everything you’ve done you’ve helped me through a lot. This song is my gift for you…I gave it all I got.
