SONG LYRICS

Bouncin’ down the road with a full pickup load
Goin’ to my daughter’s new home far, far away
I couldn’t make her stay
And now she’s moved away

Some folks would call this a part of life, raisin’ a family and lovin’ a wife
But death and age don’t let nothin’ stay

I remember her first little Easter dress,
I remember her suckin’at her mama’s breast
Walkin’ on wobbly legs and holdin’ my hand
Her every wish was my command

So I pushed and I shoved her as best as I could
In the ways of the Lord as I understood
I guess the man I am got in the way
and now she’s moved away

She’s headed out to a place where she’s been flyin’
It makes me feel like, I was dyin’

So I’m travelin’ a 1000 miles just to see her for a little while
And to curse the boy boy beneath my breath
Who’s given my heart all this distress

Some folks would call this a part of life
Losin’ a family and losin’ a wife
Death and age don’t let nothin’ stay
It’s always been that way
Don’t want to live that way
My baby’s moved away.
