SONG LYRICS

I gaze out my window
And wonder, where did the time go?
I think to way back when.
Wish I could do it all again.
You had me at that first glance,
You had me at the first dance.
I pulled you close to me and I just knew
That I was so in love with you.
I went to my momma and I said
I’ve found my one true love
And I wish to marry her.
I love her so
This I know.
My momma took the ring from her left hand
And she squeezed it into mine.
Then she said, give her this,
Sealed with a kiss.
It’ served me well
Now time will tell.
Love her hard and love her strong,
Never do her any wrong.
Momma used to stand so tall,
Now she seemed so small.
I kissed her silver hair
And held her ring with care.
That night I asked my girl to marry me,
To be my wife,
To share my life.
We’ve had joy, we’ve had tears,
We’ve had many happy years.
Now I know someday a boy will come to me
And say, I love your baby girl.
I wish to marry her.
I love her so,
This I know.
I Always stood so tall
Now I feel so small.
My wife will take the ring from her left hand
And squeeze it into his,
Then she’ll say give her this,
Sealed with a kiss.
It’s served me well,
Now time will tell.
Love her hard and love her strong,
Never do her any wrong.
On my daughter’s wedding day I’ll stand with pride
For she will be a beautiful bride.
Love her hard and love her strong,
Never do her any wrong.
My daddy gave my momma a ring so long ago, who knew
What his love would do.
It’s another storey told
From that simple band of gold.
Heaven knows, love grows
With momma’s ring, with my momma’s ring!

DESCRIPTION
This song is about the engagement ring my husband gave to me. It belonged to his mother and someday i will pass it on to my daughter. It will be three generations olf love in one ring. I gave this song to my husband as an exmas gift. I had the song recorded for him by sun recording in Nashville. I am a writer, not a singer myself.
