One Scented Candle
By Dennis Ford
Another Christmas, the day is done,
All the people, all the fun.
The winter snow now turns to rain,
About your present, let me explain.
You seemed so sad, about my gift,
A little mad, ya a little miffed.
One Scented Candle seemed out of place,
Let me change that look on your face.
This candle means you always shine,
I can’t believe that you are mine.
It isn’t gold, sorry only wax,
Allow me now to expose some facts.
I light the wick it starts to melt,
To simply say how I’ve always felt.
You touch my hand you melt my heart,
What to say, oh where to start?
The blue green colour, that’s no mistake,
The love you give, the love we make.
It fills my world, it fills the sky,
Before I share all the reasons why.
Next year you’ll get everything
A house a car, a diamond ring
More stuff than you can even handle
But that’s next year, now back to this candle
This little candle, its gentle beam ,
The way you haunt my every dream.
The way I feel, well you’re to blame,
It never ends… eternal flame.
A fragrance rises, some olive scent,
This sweet aroma, but what I meant.
Olive everything you truly are,
My living breath, my shining star.
So if you’re ever feeling low,
Light that candle, and then you’ll know.
The cheapest gift that you ever got,
Was telling you, that I just forgot.
To tell you baby every day,
I’m such a fool, but anyway.
Merry Christmas my darling dear,
Every day and every year.
