Supermarket Runs

SONG LYRICS

hey pick up the phone
I’m right outside the door
I thought we planned on sweats
but plans don’t work anymore

are we staying in tonight
or hopping on a flight
can you make up your mind
So we don’t waste anytime

Running around the parking lot
listening to our favorite song
putting instant ramen in our grocery cart
telling our parents we’ll be home soon
don’t get home till next day noon
making a school night feel like the first day of June
the night has just begun
supermarket runs
A quarter past one
supermarket runs

binge watching a show
that we’ve all seen before
jenga fell on the floor
and now we’re all getting bored

are we staying in tonight
or hopping on a flight
can you make up your mind
So we don’t waste anytime

Running around the parking lot
listening to our favorite song
putting instant ramen in our grocery cart
telling our parents we’ll be home soon
don’t get home till next day noon
making a school night feel like the first day of June
the night has just begun
supermarket runs
A quarter past one
supermarket runs

I don’t wanna go home, don’t want to be alone I, don’t wanna go home…(don’t wanna 2x) (repeat)

Running around the parking lot listening to our favorite song…

(repeat chorus)

DESCRIPTION
This song is about my connections with my friends and the supermarket which may seem odd, but it’s a constant memorable activity that connects me with my friends. I wrote, produced (using garage band on my ipad), and drew the art for this song and supermarket runs are often seen as something not really important or interesting, but being out with my friends in any way even if it’s a late night run to the market, it keeps me connected with the ones I love to be surrounded by. I always enjoy going shopping for snacks and sweets with my friends and it’s something that we always have fun with, and connects us in a different way that people normally wouldn’t expect.
