Teach the world

SONG LYRICS

Time is blowing in the wind
Like a hurricane
Of memories of songs we sing
Those songs we sang were sung,
And then they were listened to
Oh, but I’m telling you
No matter how we cried
Even if inside, we almost died
Even though we sang it perfectly
Every word
Those songs were never really heard

And now we face a hope distilled
All warm thoughts have been chilled
Blowing down like the hurricane
Those songs we will sing again
Just like before
Once again, once more
They will be sung with pride
But we’ll be dead inside
Those songs, though it seems absurd
Will still not be heard

Time is blowing with the sand
Blowing in our faces
So that we may understand
Just how to grow
And learn enough to know
We are not alone
There still is hope
We must persist
So some night we can kiss bad luck
Goodnight
We have got it right
Our speech still is clear
We just have to teach
Teach the world
Teach the world to hear
Teach the world to hear
Teach the world, teach the world
Teach the world to hear

Time is blowing in the wind
Like a hurricane
Of memories of songs we sing…

DESCRIPTION
I wrote this song in 2007, when I was 15 years old. Teach the World is a message about the need for change in the world, and about listening to and following the change makers who are leading us all to better, brighter futures. Thirteen years after it was written, Teach the World is still as relevant today as it was then.
