SONG LYRICS

FLOWER OF NORWAY’S YOUTH

The mountains have not lost their grandeur
The fjords still flow onwards to the sea
The reindeer herds are still quietly grazing
And a Nation who no one could more gentle be

But tragedy has struck upon the peaceful land
And the pain the people feel will always be
For the flower of their youth their beloved children
Have been taken from their lives oh so cruelly

For in peace they came and camped upon that island
all with dreams of how the future would be
All nations joined linking hands together
To learn to live their lives in peace and harmony

But a deranged mind unprecedented madness
An agenda that only he could see
He took the lives of sixty nine young children
Now Norway cries out will you please mourn with me

Each parent cries alone in the shelter of their home
A proud people but whose grief is plain to see
A photograph is held as the tear drops gently fall
On the Flower of Norway’s youth that will no longer be

In grief they congregated and prayed throughout the land
Forgiveness not revenge their heartfelt plea
A rose was raise a symbol of those children that were lost
A tribute to their memory that would forever be

In peace they came and camped upon thar island
All with dreams of how the future would be
A rose was held up high as the teardrops gently fell
On the flower of Norway’s yout that will no longer be
On the flower of Norway’s you that will no longer be
