SONG LYRICS

TIME TO PRAY ON CHRISTMAS DAY
By Cindy Skinner and Donna Dutchess 2020

Verse 1
Behind so many wreaths
Is a family of girls and boys
Decorating cookies
Hoping for lots of toys
In matching jammies as they march up the stairs to go to bed
One telling the other they can hear Santa’s sled

Chorus
Under the Christmas tree, for you and me
Is the greatest gift known to man
Christ our savior was born
That’s Where the story all began
As we celebrate this season in our own special way
Let us give thanks and take time to pray on Christmas Day.

Verse 2
Gifts all wrapped with ribbons
The sound of laughter fills the air
Carolers going door to door
Snow’s falling everywhere
Remember it’s not what you give or what you will receive
It’s the spirit of the season only if you believe.

Chorus
Under the Christmas tree, for you and me
Is the greatest gift known to man
Christ our savior was born
That’s Where the story all began
As we celebrate this season in our own special way
Let us give thanks and take time to pray on Christmas Day.

Bridge:
Pray for all the children
For people everywhere
Pray for all who are sick
please Lord hear our prayer! (repeat chorus and out)

DESCRIPTION
We get so caught up in the wonderful traditions of the holidays, we forget the reason for the season and taking the time to give thanks and pray on Christmas day.
