WHEELS
Every Autumn, when the leaves they fall,
I start to remember your whistle call
I put on my jacket and I take a walk
Remember every battle, every fight we fought
Kickin’ the leaves with my feet
Smile at every magpie I meet
Just a Spring shower and the flowers bloom
Decide to do a cleanup…in my room
Find an old letter that you wrote to me
From far-off Asia in Quan Dong Chi
Sweeping out every mistake
The wind just blows it back in the gate
Summer breeze – it cools my face
Blows away the cobwebs till there’s no trace
We’d be walking with our thumbs in the air
Trying to hitch a ride to anywhere
Hot asphalt melts our souls
Pinchin’ from mama our salad rolls
Guess you’ve noticed I left Winter out
You just leaving’s nothing to shout about
Then one day you caught a plane
Came back a stranger but I musn’t complain
Standing there out of the rain
Hey Mrs Buck can he come out to play?
The wheels keep turning, but I don’t know why
Flame’ll keep burning in the midnight sky
(Repeat last 2 lines to fade…..)
